The Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless is hosting a training session for members of the community who would like to become new Warm Room volunteers this season. (If you have volunteered in past seasons, you do not need to train again.). Training will take place at CoWork Tahoe (3079 Harrison Ave #12). Each free, two-hour training session will provide the necessary information to get started: Warm Room policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities, and to how to sign up for shifts. To join a session, click on the sign up button. The Warm Room is an overnight emergency shelter that operates for 3-4 months during the winter. It is a safe and warm environment for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Since the first season, it has been open for over 450 nights and provided over 10,000 shelter bed nights. This year’s Warm Room location will be announced as soon as possible.
